You don’t lose consciousness in hypnosis, instead, your attention gets focused on suggestions, detached from the immediate environment, and absorbed by inner experiences (such as feelings, cognition, and imagery). Only a few may go into deeper levels of hypnosis and may have spontaneous amnesia, though they're aware of hypnosis. You will remember everything that occurs in hypnosis, as most of what you want to accomplish in hypnosis is done in a medium-depth hypnosis. A hypnotist is just a guide who facilitates the session so that you can achieve the hypnotic state for yourself. You have control, not the Hypnotist.


When you come in for hypnosis all you need to do is follow the instructions of the Hypnotist. Anyone with the least intelligence and their willingness to follow instructions can experience hypnosis and use it to improve their life. This includes children/teenagers, adults, and seniors – all age populations.
